Hi Deeznuts,
I am bit puzzled by your position about the Arduino IDE for the Galileo. There are a lot of excellent tutorials related to Arduino in general and the Galileo in particular. When I got my first Galileo Gen 1 3 years ago, it took me less than 5 minutes to load the Blink example and run it as test. It took me more time to download the tools from the Web than compiling this script
When you ask to get directions about using C++ on Linux, I am even more puzzled. First point: Arduino IDE *is* C++.
Second point : Eclipse is much more complex to use than the Arduino IDE, and if you did not take the time to understand how to make it run, I wonder what you will do when you will have to configure Eclipse to make it run along with the Galileo.
Do you have any knowledge about embedded systems programming? I feel that you know how to program on PC or Mac, but you got disappointed when you had to deal with embedded devices. Using Eclipse rather than Arduino will not help you on that, all hardware limitations will be the same.
In conclusion, stay cool and take time to learn
Have you enable USB Optimization in the bios?
If you enable USB Optimization, all USB devices will be unavailable until after the operating system (Windows) boots
Happy new year Intel !
Can I hope that I get a real answer in 2016 ?
2016 : The year of the custom resolutions. Future !
Maybe...
Thanks !
Hi,I want to use ili9341 lcd in Intel Xdk Iot Ide.Do you know library for ili9341 in Intel Xdk Iot Ide.
I tried swapping the SSD (850 EVO) with a regular SATA hard disk. I keep having the same random system freezes. A Windows 10 installation fails within the first few minutes of installation at random points during the installation.
I have seen various Windows errors during the installation ("Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We'll restart for you"), including:
I have also opened a support ticket with Intel Support.
Hoping for a quick solution to this problem.
Your approach works until you want to re-install the second OS, i.e. Linux. I've proved it would still destroy your entire SSD content if you ever switch the legacy mode off and then on before the reinstallation. So my lesson is never playing with that legacy option before Intel gives a fix.
You are right! I reinstalled the Debian w/ GNOME and as you found its login face only showed on primary display, secondary display has nothing but a movable mice.
My NUC5i7RYH was on and plugged into a surge protector when the circuit breaker tripped. Now the NUC will not power up.
There is power to the AC-DC power adaptor.
There is no power at the USB charging port.
Does this indicate that the problem is the power adaptor? Unfortunately, I don't have a spare at hand to test with.
Today i tried the upgrade after many other useless tryings and was surprised, it works
What have i done ?
First Biosupdate, driverupdate, than win 10 on usb stick esed, starting from usb as admin, after 1,5 hours the upgrade was ready.
Hello,
I have solved the problem with the integration of the driver for USB 3.0 in the install package of Windows 7:
If you open one of your inf's file properties and go to security tab you can see something not-trusted going on:
To solve the situation in a long term you have to make the whole drivers directory trustable to your windows.
This can be done easily with streams.exe
utility from sysinternals:
http://live.sysinternals.com/Tools/streams.exe
Basic usage:
streams -s -d path\to\trusted\drivers

Christian
Hi dougho :-)
... it was a great hint from you
"However, perhaps some useful information for you is that if you download latest Windows 10 install image (from 1511 Fall update, not the original summer version) and you have product key from Windows 7, you should be able to use that key directly in Windows 10 to activate. No longer have to install old version on new hardware."
... it works properly.
Thx for your support
have a nice day ... regards
HArdy
How do I create a new file everytime I ask to start logging data to the sd card and close when asked to stop logging?
my current code recreate the file everytime and all data that was there is gone.
// Create .txt file var fs = require('fs'); var ws = fs.createWriteStream('/media/sdcard/GPS.txt');
Hi EJSEJS :-)
... just I got it ... realy great your last hint how you got the NUC5i7RYH running with W10.
Whar I have done:
Thx to all which have helped me with comments ... hints ... ideas ... it work.
kind regards

Great, have fun with your NUC5i7RYH & Samsung 950 pro
Hi aleki,
Thanks very much for the reply and explanation.
Is there any reason why the hardware I had previously, which worked perfectly in Windows 8 with WiDi / Miracast, are now incompatible? I find this extremely disappointing and frustrating to be experiencing this issue, and had I known about this, I probably would have avoided upgrading.
Will Intel be releasing any software/drivers that will help make my (and I'm sure other users as well) hardware compatible again to use WiDi / Miracast with our TVs?
Also, do you have any suggestions to use the "Miracast" capabilities only and avoid using WiDi to connect to the TV?
Thank you.
Hi ! i'm having a compiling error when i use the example webclient on ethernet library . can someone help me ?
Thanks a lot for the link to the ISO!!! Yes with that version i got my stick back to life.
I did not used rufus but simply mounted that ISO file in Mac OSX and copied the files over my Win10 USB install stick that i had created for the latest version that did not install.
As you wrote it simply went through the installation process (several reboots) and all is fine.
Now i am updating the intel driver and will try do disable this november update...
Hi Allan,
I tried installing this driver however, it didnt work because I get an eror message stating: The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manuafacturer. Setup will exit.
On the Asus website there is a link under VGA for the intel driver: ROG GL552VW | Notebooks | ASUS Nederland which is already onto version V20.19.15. But updating to this version doesnt make the BSOD's dissapear.
Someone on another forum managed to find Intel's list of tested memory for the NUC6i3: Intel® NUC Kit NUC6i3SY/NUC6i5SY System Memory
Looks like my Corsair RAM is on the list, but I don't know what kind of tests they ran. My NUC both boots and runs MemTest so if that's all they did it would of course look good (I mean in case RAM incompatibility is to root cause).
