Btw, it's interesting that you say that because when you install IDU the computer starts with the preconfigured bios settings and then as soon as the OS loads, the fans ramp to 100 percent activity. A restart restores the fan speed until the OS loads once again. Uninstallation of the IDUs and reinstallation of the SMB driver (from the chipset driver set) restores functionality. I understand they may not be related, yet there strongly suggests that there is an issue where the software overrides the fan settings.
